CRITERIA FOR JUDGES LISTS

A1 list For persons who have previously been approved by the Kennel Club to award Challenge Certificates in the breed and have satisfactorily completed their first appointment. The person must also have been seen by at least three members of the Judges Sub Committee who consider them competent. Nominees must receive a vote by the Judges Sub Committee of at least 60% which is by secret ballot.
A2 list For persons who fulfil all the requirements for the A3 list and who have been assessed in accordance with Kennel Club requirements and accepted by the Kennel Club for inclusion on an A2 list. The person must also have been seen by at least three members of the Judges Sub Committee who consider them competent.
A3 list The requirements are to have:
· judged at open show level, at championship shows without CCs or where Green Stars are on offer with a minimum of 100 classes and 500 dogs of the breed over a period of 7 years (including 5 years in Golden Retrievers for non-breed specialists) and over a wide geographical area, and have the support of the SGRS.
· judged at least one Breed Open Show - (Breed Specialists only and not necessary for judges who already award CCs in another breed).
· been seen by at least 3 members of the Judges Sub Committee who consider them competent and capable of awarding CC’s
· owned and/or bred a minimum of 3 Golden Retriever (or any breed for non-breed specialists) when they were first entered into the KC Stud Book (save in exceptional circumstances)
· stewarded for a minimum of 12 days
· for non-breed specialists, to award CCs in at least one other Breed and to have shown a genuine interest in Golden Retrievers.
· For Breed Specialists: attended a seminar given by a KC Accredited Trainer for each of the following topics
1. Requirements of a Dog Show Judges (Rules and Regulations) and have passed the relevant exam. (Copy certificate to be supplied).
2. Conformation and Movement “Hands on Assessment”, and have passed the assessment. (Copy certificate to be supplied).
3. Conformation and Movement, and have passed the assessment. (Copy certificate to be supplied).
· attended at least one breed specific seminar run in accordance with the relevant KC Code of Best Practice and passed an examination and/or assessment where applicable
Nominees must receive a vote by the Judges Sub Committee of at least 60% which is by secret ballot.
B list For Breed and Non-breed specialists, the requirements are to have:
judged at least 30 classes at open show, championships shows without CCs, or Green Stars are on offer and 250 dogs over a period of 5 years
been seen by at least 2 members of the Judges Sub Committee who consider them to be competent.
Attended at least one breed specific judging seminar and passed an assessment. (Copy certificate to be supplied).
attended both the KC Requirements of a Dog Show Judges (Rules and Regulations), KC Confirmation and Movement "Hands on Assessment" and Conformation and Movement seminars. (Appropriate pass and attendance copy certificates to be supplied).
Nominees must receive a vote by the Judges Sub Committee of at least 60% which is by secret ballot.
C list For Breed and Non-breed specialists, the requirements are to have:
Minimum requirements for inclusion on the Society’s C list are that the person must have experience in the breed for 5 years, have judged 4 classes of Golden Retrievers and be considered by the Judges Sub Committee to be competent to judge. To have attended and passed the KC Rules and Regulations seminar (copy certificate to be supplied). Nominees must receive a vote by the Judges Sub Committee of at least 60% which is by secret ballot.
